After the actor from Don't Worry, Darling turned down a chicken nugget that was tossed on stage during one of his performances at Madison Square Garden in New York City, the foundation gave him the Best Viral Moment for Animals award. Styles was commended by PETA for reminding the crowd that he doesn't eat meat.
As a result of the actress' letter to the University of Massachusetts Amherst asking for a halt to marmoset research, Daisy Ridley was named the organization's favourite collaboration. The group claims that Ridley discovered the institution had slain monkeys that it had named after Star Wars figures, including the actor's on-screen portrayal of Rey.
The adoption of a puppy by Nicola Peltz Beckham and her husband, Brooklyn Beckham, was also announced on social media by Nicola Peltz Beckham, who also earned the Pawsome Adoption Advocate award. She continued by urging her 2.7 million followers to adopt or foster a child if they are able to.
The senior vice president of PETA, Lisa Lange, stated that these caring celebrities "show that protecting animals can be as easy as leaving chicken off your plate, speaking out against cruel testing, or adopting from shelters." The fact that these celebrities and influencers are supporting animal rights is a "Sign of the Times," and PETA is recognizing Harry, Daisy, and Nicola for setting a positive example.
Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker, Bella Hadid, Jimmy Fallon, the Jonas Brothers, Hailey Bieber, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Drew Barrymore, and Janel Parrish were also nominated this year.
