Tenoch Huerta's portrayal of Namor the Sub-Mariner in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has proved to be the breakout star of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. And, unlike other adversaries before him, he's lasted through his initial film, assuring that he'll continue making ripples across the MCU.

Surprisingly, the film concludes with Namor submitting to Shuri and accepting an alliance between Wakanda and his underwater kingdom of Talokan — but his closing scene makes it apparent that he's still plotting to exploit this arrangement. And, given that the Namor of comics has always straddled the line between hero and villain, it'll be interesting to watch how Namor interacts with the larger MCU in the future, both as an ally and as an adversary. But that is a long-run affair and something Marvel will definitely plan out perfectly. Today, however, I am going to talk about 3 MCU characters, who I would personally love to see, go head-to-head against Namor.
Let's get started -

Number 1. Doctor Doom

Doctor Doom was heavily rumoured to make an appearance in the Wakanda Forever movie, but unfortunately, things didn't pan out that way, and we all got to see just the one new major introduction in the form of Namor. However, when MCU does say hello to Doctor Doom, I fully expect a head-on conflict between him and the ruler of Talokan.
After all, they've had a lengthy history in the comics as both revered comrades and ferocious rivals. Doom and Namor are quite similar in that they are both cruel, vindictive rulers and cunning strategists with sympathetic impulses hidden under their intimidating exteriors. However, it is exactly because they are so similar that their partnerships inevitably fail. It would be a travesty for Doctor Doom to never share the screen with Namor when he ultimately comes into the MCU.

Number 2. Doctor Strange

The MCU has done an INCREDIBLE job of casting some of the best actors into roles that perfectly suit their personalities, two of them being Benedict Cumberbatch's Doctor Strange and the more recent Namor, played by Tenoch Huerta. The fangirl in me wants to see the two dynamic characters duke it out on screen, and fortunately, there is actual precedent in the comics that could allow this to happen.
To begin with, they were both founding members of the original Defenders with the Hulk in 1971. However, they both served as members of the Illuminati in recent years – a name that should sound familiar to anybody who has watched Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The same film also established the concept of multiversal Incursions, which the comic Illuminati fought during Jonathan Hickman's run on New Avengers from 2013 to 2015. Namor was a staunch supporter of eliminating approaching Earths in order to defend Earth-616 in that series. Naturally, the more heroic members, like Strange, object to these techniques.
Hickman's New Avengers series serves as a prologue to his 2015 Secret Wars tale, which is expected to have a significant effect on the impending Avengers movie of the same name in 2026. With the Incursions already established as a potential danger in Multiverse of Madness, it's not a leap to think that some of the comic's Illuminati may band together to resist them. So, if that's the case, it's highly likely that Strange and Namor would clash over the matter, particularly because Namor's pride matches Strange's own ego problem, which he's currently striving to overcome.

Number 3. Thor

I saved this one up for the last because this showdown has the potential to go down in MCU history, as one of the most power-packed battles. Namor has achieved god-status thanks to his mutant abilities, and Thor, well, IS A GOD. Both of them wield some incredible powers and both of them share some personality traits that could go a long way in sowing the seeds for this absolutely epic showdown. Now, the comics or the movies do not really give us much of a precedent for the God of Thunder to bring down the hammer on the Talokan King, but should Namor get an extended stay in the MCU, and his shenanigans keep coming, Thor could just be forced to see his own troublemaking brother Loki in this new character, and that could be enough of a reason for him to try and put a stop to the madness.
